A baby’s mind is largely blank as it has not yet learned much in their short time of life. However, the mental processes of the brain is as active as it can be and is probably more for intelligent babies. This brain activity has to be focused into something and the most likely candidate for this is learning through experience. This makes the baby curious about anything. Learning is basically through experimentation  and observation of results. In a baby’s limited world, experimentation is through manipulation of objects and testing of motor skills, and observation is through the five senses. Thus, babies tend to put things into their mouths to taste them. Thus, touching a hot object for the first time will hurt a baby but it also teaches them not to do so again.

However, in today’s modern world, technology in the form of stoves and electrical outlets can do serious harm to a baby and to its environment. Thus, safeguards be set up to avoid untoward circumstances and baby proofing technology is the first step. Also, restriction of movement through Baby Gates protects the baby from its own curiosity and eases the burden of baby care. Containers of possible harmful materials and medicine need to have Child Safety Locks. For more information on child safety tips please refer the KidSafe Blog featured in the internet.
